The government of India introduced and keeps on bringing in new govt schemes to harbour women’s empowerment and to promote the engagement of women in the economy. For this purpose, multiple subsidy schemes, reservations, govt loan schemes for women and other ventures have been introduced by the government.

Lately, the digitalisation of the economy has made it difficult for women who are engaged in curating goods to market and sell them. To help such budding women entrepreneurs, the government of India introduced the Mahila e-haat.
