New FASTag Rule Started From Aug 1, 2024! Learn The Details

FASTag was introduced as a replacement for the previous tolling system in India. The older toll collection system required travellers to stop at booths and pay toll tax in cash to the booths. This often caused long traffic jams and took a lot of time. It also often had system glitches which caused a great deal of inconvenience to passengers. FASTag was introduced in 2014 in specific regions in India and by 2016, it had been rolled out to almost 247 toll booths across national highways in India.
