RBI Introduces Faster Cheque Clearing Process: Closing In On NEFT And RTGS Speed

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has taken a major step in modernising the banking sector by announcing that cheques will be cleared within a few hours instead of the existing two or three days. The RBI Governor made this announcement at the Monetary Policy Committee meeting on August 8, 2024. Pathways towards Cheque Processing Speeds Comparable to NEFT and RTGS Transactions.
