Good News For NRIs And H-1B Workers: US Reduces Remittance Tax To 3.5%

 The US House of Representatives just voted to pass the ‘One Big Beautiful Bill Act’, which cuts the remittance tax for millions of immigrants from 5% to 3.5%. From January 1, 2026, non-citizens sending money out of the country will have to pay this tax. The amendment is extra beneficial for people on H-1B visas and those living outside the US, as they usually send money to their families at home.
